Tatiana grew up locally and attended Virginia Tech, earning a degree in Chemistry. During a trip home from school, she discovered Green Spring Gardens and first joined FROGS as a student member. Once she and her husband started a family, Green Spring Gardens was their go-to location for walks, for picnics on sunny days, and for learning more about nature. When their children started school, she came back to Green Spring Gardens and became a Master Gardener. In 2014, she and her daughter took over the care of the beehives at Green Spring.
