To Premiere September 2024
The Friends of Green Spring is delighted to sponsor Green Spring Gardens’ second Judged Photography Contest! With the theme Nature in View, the Contest is open to non-professional photographers at least age 18 in 2024. We will accept up to 40 contest entry photographs with a regional horticulture or natural theme. All accepted Contest entries will be judged, awarded prizes (1st $200, 2nd $100, and 3rd $75), and on public display from October 15th through December 6th, 2024.

- Entry Forms and fees shall be submitted from September 1, 2024, until September 25, 2024, or until 40 entries that meet the Contest Rules are received.
- The contest is open to non-professional adult photographers at least age 18 as of 2024.
- Photographs must have been taken on or after January 1, 2023, in any season of the year; reflect regional horticulture or natural themes, with the exception of no seascapes, people portraits, or pet portraits. Entries may be in black & white or color and must be in focus.
- Applicants may submit up to two entries with a donation of $20 per entry to Green Spring Gardens. Applicants will be asked to submit a digital photograph for review to determine acceptance of the entry into the Contest. Accepted entries must be delivered to Green Spring Gardens that are printed only on photographic paper and framed per contest rules. Printed photographs may be any size; must be in a frame that does not exceed 16” x 20”; may be white or light cream-matted; and must have a glass or plexiglass covering.
- Entries may be offered for sale at the option of the contestant, subject to donation of 30%of the total net sales.
- All digital photographs of accepted entries and the name of the contestant may be used by the Friends of Green Spring and the staff of Green Spring Gardens in perpetuity in any medium for any purpose. The photographer retains the copyright to the photograph.
- A Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
- The Entry Form will be available beginning July 2024.
