Green Spring Gardens

Greenspring Color for digital and web

Green Spring Gardens is a must-visit, year-round gold mine of information and inspiration for the home gardener.  It's an outdoor classroom, a museum, and a national historic site.  Open to all, it's a delightful respite in the DC area.

The park has a wooded stream valley with ponds, a naturalistic native plant garden, more than 20 thematic demonstration gardens, a greenhouse, a plant shop, two gift shops, a historic house and landscape, and a horticultural reference library. The gardens and educational programs focus on practical landscaping techniques that are appropriate for the Washington metro area and related topics.

In addition to children's and adult education programs related to plants and planet, Green Spring rounds out programming with delightful tea programs, history programs, getaway trips, and numerous popular annual events co-hosted with FROGS (Friends of Green Spring).

Park grounds are open from dawn to dusk.

Green Spring Gardens is a horticultural park that uniquely enriches the portfolio of parks and services offered by the Fairfax County Park Authority.
