Linda Nordstrom

linda-nordstromI am honored to become a FROGS Board member. I discovered Green Spring Gardens in 2013, after my retirement as a civilian Army Logistician, and over two decades after I moved from Illinois to Springfield, VA. Now, I am never away from the gardens for long. I came to Green Spring Gardens for an interview to become a Master Gardener. I graduated from Master Gardener training in 2013 and began volunteering in Children’s Education, along with several other activities. From 2014 to 2016, I was a part-time staff member in Children’s Education. I love teaching children about gardening and nature. I have always been an avid gardener. I was inspired by my mom who always had peonies blooming in spring and geraniums throughout the summer. While geraniums still bloom on my deck each year, my gardening is now focused on native plants that host and feed bees, butterflies, and birds. I look forward to working with the Board and the staff to make Green Spring Gardens an even more amazing place for our visitors.
