Marylou Wall

Prior to retiring from the City of Alexandria Public Schools and taking vacation days on Tuesday and Thursday for 3 months to participate in the Extension Master Gardener program, Marylou completed classes in 2005 ~ delighted, inspired and motivated by the program!

Her volunteer activities at Green Spring Gardens center around the High Tech team, previously acting as the team leader for seven years and now as a member, where the team develops 60+ gardening PowerPoints for community education. Currently, she co-leads the Garden Talks bi-weekly education program, offering 4 – 5 introductory topical sessions each Fall, Winter and Spring to inform and inspire beginner gardeners as they explore gardening. She strongly believes in mentoring the new Extension Master Gardeners, co-leading the Mentoring Program. Along the way, she began to assist with various FROGS-sponsored activities. She loves what is called “social gardening,” the way diverse communities are brought together around a local garden, such as Green Spring Gardens. Gardeners and gardening never fail to fascinate her!

In the Fall of 2019, Marylou joined the FROGs Board and delights in the opportunity to assist and support the continued viability of Green Spring Gardens and the many valued and valuable benefits it provides to the community.
