Fred Blott

Fred began volunteering in the vegetable garden at Green Spring Gardens in the spring of 2012, after retiring from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Later that fall, he began classes for the Green Spring Master Gardener program and became a certified Master Gardener in 2013. Along the way, he began to assist with various FROGS-sponsored activities, such as Spring Garden Day and Gardeners Holiday.

In the spring of 2017, Fred was asked to join the FROGS Board and is delighted for the opportunity to assist in supporting the continued viability of Green Spring Gardens and the many valuable benefits it provides to the public. His horticultural interests are wide-ranging, but in particular include vegetable gardening, native plants, and soil and water conservation.
