Last night FROGS Vice President Fred Blott presented a special bald cypress tree as a gift to the gardens.  The new addition to the garden's tree collection will be planted near the ponds this fall.  Taxodium distichum 'Cascade Falls', a unique weeping variety of the species first discovered growing in New Zealand, is described below.  A commemorative poster (reproduced below) is on display in Green Spring's Horticulture Center.
