Spring Garden Day 2025
Jeff Zinn and Marylou Wall, Spring Garden Day Co-Chairs
We almost had perfect weather for the May 2025 Spring Garden Day: warm, low humidity, and dry. These conditions attracted more than 2,000 attendees. Spring Garden Day, sometimes referred to as “The Big Plant Sale,” is a highly popular annual event at Green Spring. Plant vendors offered a variety of popular, unusual, and even rare plants for sale. There were also vendors featuring plant-related items. And as always, the Garden Gate Plant Shop gave a 10 percent discount on plant purchases to FROGS members.
Growers and Extension Master Gardeners were on hand to help with plant selection and gardening advice. Roaming Stone Tool Sharpener provided on-site tool sharpening for garden pruners, loppers, and shears. Attendees enjoyed local artists and on-site food vendors, as well as the not-to-be-missed FROGS Bake Sale, featuring a variety of tasty treats and mouthwatering baked goods. Our mascot, Ribbit the Frog, made an appearance to the delight of the children.
Thank you to the Green Spring Gardens staff, our volunteers, donors, sponsors*, loyal community friends, and FROGS members who came to Spring Garden Day to support Green Spring Gardens. Our plant vendors were happy to have customers, and the Bake Sale sold out! We are immensely grateful for your support and dedication to keeping Green Spring growing!
