Scavenger Hunts
Last fall our education team designed a new addition to our field trip offerings, a self-guided scavenger hunt around the grounds! This has been a great change that has allowed us to increase our daily field trip capacity above 70 students. By having this larger capacity, we are now able to host all the students in a grade level on one day. This has proven to be beneficial for schools that may not have the funds or volunteers to arrange for a second field trip if the grade is split in half due to large numbers. Students, teachers, and chaperones have all really enjoyed the time to explore our beautiful gardens in search of our scavenger hunt items!

Holiday Tree Detail

Holiday Tree
Incorporating numerous natural materials that were collected throughout the year from the grounds, our holiday tree was a wonderful capstone project for the year of 2023 that wowed visitors and staff alike. Glowing golden and warm under the atrium lights with allium ball “snowflakes” suspended from the rafters, the tree featured lotus seed pods, southern magnolia leaves, panicle hydrangea flowers, pinecones, sweetgum balls, orange slices, and more natural gems.

Exciting Spring Project: Please Help!2024-winter-birdhouse-rustic
Youth and Family Education is planning something magical for Green Spring’s wooded areas this spring. We are asking for donations of old birdhouses, miniature garden decorative items, hanging yard art, and the like. Think fairy garden.  Any donations are greatly appreciated!

Interested in Volunteering?
We are always looking for more volunteers who would like to help with Youth and Family programs! Our volunteers are a big part of making quality programs a success at Green Spring Gardens.
