Green Spring Gardens 50th Anniversary
You are invited to celebrate Green Spring's 50th anniversary by giving to the Moon Gate Garden Project.
The project will create a permanent commemoration of our first half-century in the form of a moon gate near the boundary of the Edible Garden, and a new Asian-inspired garden.
Moon gates originated in ancient Asian gardens. They provide enticing passageways from one space into another, piquing curiosity about what lies beyond. A moon gate at Green Spring will represent a symbolic connection between our past and our future.

The moon gate will incorporate elements of Green Spring’s historic landscape, designed in 1942 by pioneering landscape gardener Beatrix Farrand. It will provide a stunning backdrop for events and photography and a place of sanctuary and inspiration for 200,000 annual visitors.
To learn more and to donate, please visit the Moon Gate Garden Project on Fairfax County Park Foundation’s website, or call 703-642-5173.
Please help make Green Spring's 50th anniversary commemorative project a reality by adding a leaf to Green Spring's Giving Tree! Each gift of $50 or more adds a virtual leaf to Green Spring Gardens Giving Tree.
