50th Anniversary: Our Giving Tree

Special anniversary programs and events are extended into 2021 and will include gardening lectures, educational afternoon teas, garden tours, and a gala commemorative event next fall.

The large-scale Moon Gate Garden Project will include a mix of traditional and modern design concepts to draw visitors into a new Asian-inspired garden. The moon gate will be constructed near the boundary of the Edible Garden. The medium will be a mix of stone and metal to reflect elements of Green Spring’s historic landscape designed by pioneering garden designer Beatrix Farrand in 1942. Farrand’s own signature moon gate is an acclaimed feature of the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Garden in Seal Harbor, Maine.

Green Spring is partnering with the Fairfax County Park Foundation to raise funds for the Moon Gate Garden Project. We are excited to announce Our Giving Tree as the fundraising campaign; help fill the leaves on our giving tree by donating $50 (or more!) in honor of someone special. To learn more more about this partnership and to donate, please visit the Moon Gate Garden Project on the Fairfax County Park Foundation’s website.

Thank you!
